Discovery: Weekend Wonders
| March 6, 2011 | Filled under Discovery |
This weekend has been really relaxing and laid back. Besides running into a bunch of people around town, here are some simple things that made this weekend wonderful:
{After wanting to get a map or a globe for some time know, we found this old globe for $5 at a local garage sale}
{Our room had been neglected in the decoration department. Adding the globe helped bring in some color and dimension}
{Fresh lemons and limes graciously offered by a house down the street (can’t get more local than that!)}
{Disneyland tickets for next weekend’s mini-vacation}
{My favorite bran muffins fresh out of the oven. I use Bob’s Red Mill recipe but add a half cup of zucchini and use raisins instead of dates.}
I hope everyone had a great weekend :)
Recipe: Valentine’s Day Chocolate Truffles
| February 11, 2011 | Filled under Uncategorized |
It’s February, and it is time to spread the love! I wanted to make chocolate truffles for quite some time now, and Valentines Day seemed like the perfect occasion to create this decadent treat. Not only are they smooth, rich and made of chocolate on top of more chocolate; they are the perfect size to share. Plus, since it’s Valentines Day, I had an excuse to make them festive with pink sprinkles and hearts.
{Heart shaped sprinkles}
{Ganache centers ready for their chocolate coating}
